At the risk of sounding conceited, I will say that I am a strong girl. I lift weights and run and swim and, honestly, I was born pretty atheletic. Alot of girls are strong. Why, then, do people insist on making men sound like the superior race? Why do they say that men are stonger and more able? That we should stand to the side while they do the "dirty work"? I've heard people, even women, who specifically ask for boys to help set something up or carry something. Women, and men, saying things like this really concern me. Especially if they were there when women weren't allowed to play sports and when they were the designated homemakers! A woman was supposed to clean and cook and raise the children and make her husband look good. I don't even like kids! And I am thankful for the oportunity to do other things but some people are still degrading us! We can shoot rifles and lift weights and get dirty just as well as men. Sometimes I just want to yell, "Wake up people! This is the twenty-first century!" but that would be out of line and people would think that I was either crazy or they would think badly about my parents. Or both. Libba Bray, the author of A Great and Teribble Beauty, was blogging a few days ago about being mad seeing music, sport, and tatoo magazines in the "Men's Interest" section. She said, "That's right--all the music magazines are shelved under "Men's Interest." Because, you know, chicks don't rock. Grrrr..." Yep. Men have taken over magazines too. Okay. My rant is over.
Stand up and defend yourself!!!

Thanksgiving Thoughts...
At F3, our youth group, our youth leader asked us all what we were thankful for. Everyone said that they were thankful for their family or their friends and I wanted to say something original but I couldn't come up with anything. That got me thinking. Later, I thought to myself that I was thankful for my house. But then I came to the realization that my parents had bought my house. Then I thought, "I'm thankful for being homeschooled," but my parent's decided to homeschool me. I kept thinking on it and everything that I came up with all came back to my parents or God. I am thankful for God, by the way. Then, I realized that all we have to be thankful for are our parents, our friends, and God. They provide everything we need. Just a few Thanksgiving thoughts.

Oops!
Hey. I haven't posted in, like, FOREVER!! Sorry about that. Well, in my non-blogging phase, I acomplished alot! I I took a CLEP test, College Level Examination Program, for Biology and passed so I got my first college credits! I started studing for the Sociology CLEP last week as well. I also started chemistry, last week, and I finished Eusebius in history. I have survived band and choir (so far) and I really enjoy them (most of the time)! I quit winter swim team but I might do voice lessons. I have an audition on monday and I don't know what I'm gonna sing!
After giving you a breif overview of my life; I am reading a really good book! It's called Dragonhaven by Robin McKinley. I really like it. It's about a boy who finds an abandoned baby dragon in a dragon park and is raising it illegaly. I would recommend it!
Rachel is going through a stage. A very... odd stage. She decided that spelling "color" and "favorite" like "colour" and "favourite" was in her best interest. I don't know why she is so weird about these things but I'm told that we should encourage this creative behavior. By the way, Rachel is doing well in school and is doing really well in choir and voice! She sounds so good!
This is, as you may have guesssed, Thanksgiving week and Susie's birthday is on Friday so I've been cleaning and getting ready for Susie's volleyball team and my grandparents and my aunt, uncle, and cousins, and Rachel to come over. It's going to be fun, but very tiring. Really, Thanksgiving then a birthday party?! Whew! Oh well. Too late to cancel! Just kidding!
Happy Thanksgiving!

It's Over!!!
This week was choir camp week. Possibly the worst week of the year. Every day I got up, worked out, then went to choir camp. It was torture. Not that I don't like hanging out with Rachel or even that I don't like singing because I like both. But every day for a week, singing in a hot, small room gets very aggravating and exhausting. Then today I had band immediately after choir so I had no water, no food, and no rest. It kicked my butt! And, to top it all off, the Cards lost again.

Back on It!
I started excercising again this week. Every morning I wake up and get on the treadmill then hit the weights. I woke up so sore this morning! My calves hurt and I can hardly walk! It stinks. I guess it's good for me but it doesn't feel like it. Luckily I have really great music on my iPod!
